Hi there, I’m Joy
From my earliest memories, I was enamored with books. When I was 9, I finally found the best reading spot ever. Lying in a hammock, under a big oak tree, overlooking a pond, frogs croaking, crickets chirping, I floated into other worlds with every poem I absorbed by Robert Louis Stevenson. This is the magic I want to help students capture.

Bio

With over 14 years of experience teaching in the public school system, I have gained insight into children as learners. I started out teaching in elementary where I taught 3rd - 5th grades. My love of reading and writing led me to teach Language Arts in middle school and later English in high school.
I have enjoyed working with learners of all ages and look forward to teaching your child the skills they need to not only succeed in reading & writing but also develop a deeper love of this literary art form.
